The Swedish half-bred was born, three hundred years ago, of the crossing of local mares with Eastern, Andalusian standards and clippings, of which the goal was to produce good horses for the cavalry. Since, the race was carefully consolidated, thanks to contributions of Thorough-bred, Eastern Prussian, Hanovrien, Trakehner and Holstein. By a very strict control of the standards, one obtained a saddle horse of first class, competitor frightening for the Olympic Games where it excels as well in the contest of raising to the jump of obstacle. The character of the Swedish Half-bred is intelligent, intrepid, judicious, flexible and good nature.



Its size is on average 1.62 m, and its dress of all the frank colors, generally alezane, bay, burned chestnut horse, gray.



Good conformation, saddle horse excellent. Pretty head with the rectilinear profile, large eyes, ears short and drawn up, beautiful wearing of head on a neck average length. Strong and inclined shoulders, garrot left well. Rather deep body, broad thorax, good kidneys, right back, excellent and round back-hand. The legs are fine and hard, short guns, short and inclined pasterns, bulges placed well. The paces right and are well balanced.​
