The Fédération équestre internationale (commonly known as the FEI, or in English as the International Federation for Equestrian Sports) is the international governing body of equestrian (horse) sports. Recognized competition disciplines include dressage, Combined driving, endurance riding, eventing, para-equestrianism, reining, show jumping, and vaulting, and it also recognizes tent pegging and horseball as regional equestrian disciplines. It is not concerned with horse racing or polo. It has organized the FEI World Equestrian Games quadrenially since 1990.

The FEI headquarters are in Lausanne, Switzerland.
An FEI code of conduct protects the welfare of horse athletes from physical abuse or doping.

History
The FEI was first formed in 1921, with the joining of the national organizations of Belgium (BEL), Denmark (DEN), France (FRA), Italy (ITA), Japan (JAP), Norway (NOR), Sweden (SWE) and the United States of America (USA). Today, there are 314 National Organizations who are affiliated with the FEI, with the newest members being Cameroon and Madagascar, who joined in 2005.

Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein

Princess Haya of Jordan (Arabic: ھيا) (born May 3, 1974) is a daughter of late King Hussein I of Jordan and the current junior wife of the two wives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai.

Family
Princess Haya's father was Hussein bin Talal (November 14, 1935 – February 7, 1999), the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from 1952 to 1999.

Her mother was Alia Baha ed din Toukan (1948–1977), the third of the king's four wives. Queen Alia died in a helicopter crash in Amman, Jordan, and Jordan's main airport was named Queen Alia International Airport) in her honour.

Princess Haya is the first of two children King Hussein had by Queen Alia; she has a younger brother, Ali (born 1975), and an older adopted sister, Abir, (born 1972, adopted 1976). She also has several half-brothers and half-sisters, among them the reigning king Abdullah II of Jordan.

Education
Princess Haya studied in Britain, where she attended Badminton School for Girls in Bristol, Bryanston School in Dorset and later St Hilda's College, Oxford University, from which she graduated with a BA Honours degree in P.P.E. (Politics, Philosophy, and Economics.)

Sports
Princess Haya is an avid sportswoman. She participated in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney Australia representing Jordan in show jumping, where she was also the flag bearer for the Jordanian delegation, and regularly takes part in equestrian events. She has been elected as president of the International Equestrian Federation for a standard four year term ending in 2010. Princess Haya was also selected as a member of the international athletes commission at the International Olympic Committee.

Marriage
On April 10, 2004, Princess Haya married Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai.

Princess Haya is the first woman to be appointed as an ambassador for the UN hunger relief Program, she is an avid supporter for the children's right to play organization among many other National and international non profit organizations.​

Infanta Pilar, Duchess of Badajoz

The Infanta Pilar of Spain, Duchess of Badajoz (Doña María del Pilar Alfonsa Juana Victoria Luisa Ignacia de Todos los Santos de Borbón y Borbón-Dos Sicilias) (born July 30, 1936) is the elder daughter of H.R.H. Don Juan de Borbon, Count of Barcelona and H.R.H. Doña Maria Mercedes de Borbón Dos-Sicilias y Orleans, and older sister of current reigning King Juan Carlos of Spain. She has also a younger sister, Infanta Margarita of Spain.

Doña Pilar married Don Luis Gomez-Acebo y de Estrada, Vizconde de la Torre (December 23, 1934 - March 9, 1991) on May 6, 1967 at Lisbon, Portugal. They had five children:

* Her Excellency Simoneta Luisa Gomez-Acebo y de Borbón (born October 28, 1968). She married Jose Miguel Fernandez y Sastron in 1990 and they have two sons (Luis Juan and Pablo) and one daughter (Maria de las Mercedes).
* His Excellency Juan Filiberto Nicolás Gomez-Acebo y de Borbón (born December 6, 1969), Vizconde de la Torre.
* His Excellency Bruno Alejandro Gomez-Acebo y de Borbón (born June 15, 1971). Married to Bárbara Cano in 2002 and they have two sons: Alejandro Juan (2004) and Guillermo (2005).
* His Excellency Beltrán Luis Alfonso Gomez-Acebo y de Borbón (born May 20, 1973). Married model Laura Ponte on September 18, 2004. They have a son Luis Felipe (2005) and a daughter, Laura (2006).
* His Excellency Fernando Umberto Gomez-Acebo y de Borbón (born September 30, 1974). Married Monica Fernan Luque on November 27, 2004.

Doña Pilar renounced her right of succession upon marriage, but her renunciation took place before the adoption of the Spanish Constitution and was not ratified by the Cortes.

She was President of the International Equestrian Federation from 1994 to 2005, when she was replaced by Princess Haya bint Hussein. She was member of the International Olympic Committee for Spain from 1996 to 2006, when she became an honorary member, and Member of the Executive Board of the Spanish Olympic Committee.
