"Vice"
Definition: Any bad habit, usually of a repetitive nature such as cribbing, weaving, pacing. A behavior caused by prolonged exposure to stressful situations. Similar to obsessive-compulsive disorders in humans.

Examples: His horse was beautiful, but its habit of chewing the wood in its stall was a destructive vice.​

"Definition of Worming"
Definition: Some people will say that they have "wormed" their horse or given their horse "wormer". What they will have done is administered anti-parasite medication or "dewormer". Deworming should be done regularly. Read more about de-worming in the FAQs.

Definition: A horse that leans from one front foot to another while swinging its head. Known as a stable vice or bad habit developed as a stress response.

Definition: X is often used to signify that a horse has parents of two different breeds. For instance a TBXQH is a Thoroughbred-Quarter Horse cross. X is also the letter that represents the centre of a dressage riding ring.
Examples: The dressage rider rode to X in the middle of the ring and saluted the judge.​

"Yearling"
Definition: A horse or pony of either sex that is under one year of age.
Pronunciation: y eer ling
Examples: Although a two-year-old is ready to start learning to carry a rider, a yearling is not strong enough.​
