Another CBS Breed show is over and Catherine, Birgitte and I are
sitting in Birgitte's living room complaining about how fast time
flies!!! We left Oslo for Stanstedt on Friday morning and arrived at
our B&B in the afternoon. We were then very fortunate to be invited to
supper with the Scotts and all their friends and helpers. This gave us
a chance to have a sneak peek at most of the horses, and also to meet
some very nice people.
Saturday morning was spent in the heritage city of Bath, as we would
most probably have been in everyone's way during the show preparations.
I have a very strong suspicion that this is why everyone was soooooo
enthusiastic about our plans to visit the place!!! ;o) But it is one
of the most beautifull cities we have ever been to.
We then went back to the Scotts to take part in the AGM and to STUFF
ourselves on Jane's good food.
The CBS Breed Show was as usual very well run, with well turned out
horses and handlers. I noticed that most of the horses were very well
handled and very well behaved - much better than 2 years ago. And I was
very pleased to see so many children wearing safety vests while riding.
It was so nice to meet new people and see friends again.
The "sneak peek" mentioned above resulted in another export to Sweden.
Another example of "to come, see and conquer". The filly is:
HENDEN SHABETTE 1 year old
Sire: Hopstone Shabdiz Dam: Henden Babes
who also became Supreme Champion and the very first Caspian purebred to
win the Louise Firouz Memorial Trophy.
Thank you, Ron, Jane, Fleur and the rest of the energetic and cheerful
gang at Henden/Lanhill Stud for a wonderfull weekend.
