Four children drown when buggy overturns

February 26, 2011

The bodies of four Amish children have been recovered after their horse-drawn carriage overturned in a flooded creek in Kentucky.
Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon reported that three of the children - one a six-month-old baby - were discovered shortly after midnight on Friday. The fourth, an 11-year-old girl, was found about 10.45am.
The Thursday evening accident drew 200 personnel into a search for the missing children.
A married couple and three children survived the accident.
The buggy overturned during a bid to cross a flooded road.
Continuing heavy rain had made the search for the children difficult.
