Pencil, a horse that fell through the ice on a pond on a Melbourne farm, stands up after being pulled from the water and onto the bank on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009 in Campbell County, Ky. Nearly 40 firefighters worked in frigid temperatures for more than an hour to rescue the horse. Doug Oldiges,owner, says the horse might have gone to the pond looking for water to drink because the heater on his water trough had stopped working.
